We’re Officially LIVE

We’re Officially LIVE

After our last update, we had just completed our third and final home visit. About two weeks later, our caseworker submitted our home study, and we were one step closer to bringing a child into our family. That milestone felt huge. We’re incredibly thankful for the many friends, family members, and coworkers who stepped in to help—whether it was writing recommendation letters, offering guidance, or reviewing our profile book. This process has already shown us how loved and supported we are, even before a baby is here.

God in the Details

Throughout this journey, God has continued to give us gentle reminders that we’re exactly where we’re supposed to be. From strangers offering unexpected encouragement to a well-timed sermon or a song on the radio, each moment has been a quiet confirmation that He’s walking with us. These have served as little nudges from God—winks, really—just to say, “I see you, and I’ve got this.”

Home Study Approved and We’re LIVE

After our home study was submitted, we heard back within the week that it had been approved. From there, we submitted our pre-placement and home study fees, which made everything official. On May 2, we received the email that we were officially active and ready to be shown to expectant moms.

I happened to get that email just after leaving Ezra’s school, where we had celebrated his birthday with his class. Both boys were with me in the car, and we all did a little happy dance in the parking lot before heading home to surprise Josh. It was such a joyful moment that we’ll never forget. The boys are thrilled about becoming big brothers, and we’re so grateful they get to walk through this season with us.

Birthday Parties and Busy Weekends

Since then, life hasn’t slowed down. That weekend was filled with the final soccer tournament of the season for both boys and Ezra’s birthday party. His request? A “Jesus” theme. We found some fun decorations (thank you, post-Easter sales) and even sent guests home with little Jesus figure party favors. It was sweet, thoughtful, and very Ezra.

Mother’s Day Reflections

This past weekend, we celebrated Mother’s Day. It was a beautiful day. I’m so thankful for the two boys who first made me a mom. Being their mother has been my greatest joy and highest calling. Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve known that motherhood would be the most important role I’d ever hold.

But Mother’s Day also brought with it the bittersweet reminder of the season we’re in. Waiting. Hoping. Praying. Not just for ourselves, but especially for the expectant mom who may already be walking through a season of uncertainty and heartbreak. Whether she’s currently pregnant or yet to find herself in that position, we are already holding her close in our prayers. We know her path won’t be easy, and we are committed to praying for her daily—for her health, her strength, her peace, and for God’s presence to surround her in every step of her journey.

How You Can Support Us

Many of you have asked how you can support us during this time. We’ve launched our very first adoption fundraiser- a shirt campaign! We’re offering Comfort Color sweatshirts and tees. All proceeds go directly to our adoption fund.

If you feel led, we’d be so grateful if you would:

  • Purchase a shirt for yourself or your family

  • Share the fundraiser with your friends, church, or online community

  • Continue to pray for us—and for the birth mom who will make the most selfless decision of all

You can find the link to the fundraiser here:

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. We are so grateful to walk this road with a community that has shown us what love and support truly look like.

With love and gratitude,
Daphne, Josh, Zeke & Ezra
